The Orchestra of the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ACADEMY is the heart of the Academy. It is in this ensemble that all Academy students come together each year to study key works of the 20th and 21st centuries – from modernist classics to numerous contemporary compositions receiving their world premieres – for a three-week-long phase of intensive work under the direction of Prinicpal Conductor Matthias Pintscher and other renowned conductors.
